Ode to Black and White

Photography takes you to a time, a place, a subject. A good photograph does so without you becoming aware of the photographer. You connect with the subject, you see the person, the place, you become part of the moment. In black and white photography there is a level of abstraction that takes you through the photographer’s mind, the vision, the feelings, in an almost magical way. Reality becomes narrowly focused on what the photographer wants you to experience. You see the world through the photographer’s eyes, and more importantly the photographer’s vision.

At a meeting of the Peachtree Corners Photography Club back in July of 2021, I did a presentation on Black and White Photography. I am a better photographer than a speaker, but I tried to convey my love of the medium.
